Job Description

The Specialist, Progression Pathways and Innovation supports the development of the Progression Pathways framework for signatories. A progression framework is intended to accompany the six PRI principles to guide responsible investment activities of signatories.

The role includes research, analysis, and reporting activities to support framework design, engagement and consultation with expert teams across the PRI and engagement with signatories.

The role will also develop expertise in advanced approaches to assessing and achieving investor impact and / or sustainability outcomes aligned stewardship.

The Specialist will report to the Head, Progression and Innovation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Research models and examples of development frameworks that can inform the PRIs approach.

  • Contribute to design alternatives for the progression framework.

  • Consult with the PRI’s internal teams on design of the progression framework.

  • Consult and engage with signatories on the design of the framework, including participation in outreach events.

  • Brief and advise PRI teams and signatories on implementation of the framework.

  • Develop knowledge on advanced practices on investor impact and / or stewardship.

  • Support the building and maintenance of relationships with key partner organisations that will feed into the work.

  • Support the implementation and updating of the progression framework, reflecting feedback and experience gained by PRI colleagues through their engagement with signatories.

Person Specification

  • Subject matter expertise in ESG and sustainability outcomes and knowledge of PRI programmes on Progression Pathways

  • Understanding of practices on investor impact and stewardship

  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills. Identifies trends (and risks) and solves problems in a structured and rigorous way with a view implementing improvements

  • Good research, reporting and analysis skills with the ability to support in the formulation and creation of development frameworks
