Job Description

Project Description:

Working on the electronics for our Thruster Pointing Mechanism, you will be a key part of an exciting new product being developed at AVS UK. 

You will work with our senior electrical engineer and our electrical engineering degree apprentice to develop this new system, working on the hardware and the board layouts, and will also deliver a generic electronics bench as an addition to our electronics lab.    

You will gain experience in:

  • Experience with “front-line” work with significant responsibilities in a space industry SME at the forefront of space technology developments in the UK.

  • Knowledge of EN9100 and ISO9001 certification,

  • Improve interpersonal and team-working skills with a young, multicultural, multi-skilled and passionate team.

  • Improve problem solving skills in short timescales.

  • Knowledge of different space systems: Spaceflight, space propulsion: thrusters, electronics, fluidics, diagnostics, space mechanisms, exploration and interplanetary missions, etc.

Minimum requirements:

- Knowledge of Motor control Electronics (Stepper Motor or BLDC Motor control electronics )

- Familiar with board layouts

- Hands on experience of working with and testing electronics systems

- Excellent communication skills

- Right to work in the UK

Process details:

  • 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate. We are happy to hear from candidates who are looking for a longer term position.

  • In-person Induction Event to be held on 24th June 2024 , and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held at Date TBD

  • 2 days of holiday per month worked with us.
