Job Description
We’re looking for a brilliant Policy and Public Affairs Officer to help translate the experiences and insight from women and Pause Practices into influencing for long term system change for women and families in the future. The role will be part of our national team (based in City Road, London, but with colleagues working from home all around the country) and will be the first of its kind in Pause. You will work closely with women, national team and Practice colleagues to deliver our brand new influencing strategy. We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for ensuring that women who have experience of the Pause programme are at the heart of our work.
Pause has a strategic commitment to influencing in systems, policy and practice, with and for women who have experienced repeated removal of children from their care, to prevent the removal of a child happening more than once. Our influencing work will be based around influencing national policy and system change, amplifying local changes and raising awareness of women’s experiences.
This Policy and Public Affairs Officer role is a new role for Pause and will be responsible for delivering the key components of our influencing work. This ranges from developing policy positions on key issues, managing briefings and consultation responses, maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and supporting women to campaign and influence themselves.
