The construction industry is undergoing a period of transformative change, and Laing O’Rourke needs bold and bright emerging leaders to help build a new future for the industry. Construction technology (ConTech) investment has become one of the hottest areas of global venture capital funding, and clients, partners and governments are increasingly realizing the potential that construction innovation has to bring benefits to society. As one of the largest global industries, clocking in at 13% of global GDP, innovations in the construction industry can impact the lives of millions of people, yield major benefits for the natural environment, generate huge value for society, and leave a legacy that can last through the ages.

To help realize this vision we are looking for multi-disciplinary, early career innovators to join our Technology and Innovation (T&I) team for a paid 12 week internship program.  We are very flexible regarding balancing study and work commitments. All roles are paid.

The T&I team is where the company looks for its pioneering innovations which could go on to transform the organization, the industry and ultimately the world. The T&I team has deep experience in a diverse range of emerging technologies and processes, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augemented reality, advanced manufacture and human-centred design. We are constantly developing ourselves so that we can implement the most impactful innovations across the entire construction ecosytem, including areas such as health and safety, quality, sustainability, design and logistics. Laing O'Rourke's aim is to be the recognized leader of construction innovation and excellence, and the T&I team is the heart of this mission.

While Laing O’Rourke is a construction company, we are not just looking for those that have a construction or civil background. The nature of the work is highly multi-disciplinary, and we strongly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply if they are excited about the opportunity. The current team contains people with backgrounds in biology, philosophy, environmental science, architecture, communications, business development, along with engineering!  

While all positions are based in Sydney we are flexible with working arrangements.
