Job Description

Frontier Space Technologies is a UK based space biotechnology start-up. We are a small, multidisciplinary, fast-moving team of engineers, scientists and business development professionals with a keen passion for space. We provide end-to-end services to perform research and development in space. This is enabled by our core technology offering, which is a miniaturised autonomous laboratory – SpaceLab – to facilitate biological, pharmaceutical, and chemical research in space microgravity environments. This unique environment can be leveraged to develop new therapeutics for diseases on Earth and support human space exploration. 

Project Description

  • Frontier Space Technologies is seeking a talented Sales Intern to join our dynamic Business Development Team. In this role, the intern will play a pivotal part in identifying and assessing potential leads through comprehensive market research and proactive outreach efforts. Tasks include conducting targeted market research to pinpoint leads within pharmaceutical and contract research organisations, utilising diverse prospecting tools such as CRM software and social media platforms, and engaging in outreach activities like networking events and email campaigns to connect with potential clients. 

    The objective of this project is to support our business development initiatives and improve the intern's abilities, particularly in areas such as market research proficiency. They will also gain an understanding of essential lead qualification criteria like budget, authority, need, and timeline (BANT), which will help them prioritise leads efficiently. Working closely with the Business Development team, they will refine their skills in sales pipeline management and lead tracking. Additionally, they will actively engage in collaboration and ongoing learning, seeking feedback and applying theoretical knowledge to real-world situations to facilitate personal and professional development.

Applicant Specification:

  • Currently pursuing or has a degree in Business, Marketing & sales, or a related field. 

  • Strong interest in sales and business development 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn. 

  • Knowledge of sales principles and techniques is a plus. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 

Technical Skills 

  • Knowledge of Hubspot and Mailchimp 

  • Knowledge of WordPress (preferred, not essential) 

 

Soft Skills 

  •  Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of other engineers and scientists 

  •  Exceptional time management skills and proven ability to take initiatives  

  •  Taking part in regular team meetings and take initiatives to  

Process details:

  • 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate

  • In-person Induction Event to be held on [date], and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held at the [place/date]
