Job Description

The Role

You are an enthusiastic and confident person who will be a key part of our Finance, People & Governance team.  Working closely with colleagues across the team under the leadership of the Director of Finance, People & Governance, you will deliver support and services to London Sport colleagues in these three key areas.   

Central to this will be building relationships with the London Sport teams working directly to help more people to become physically active.

 What you’ll do:

 ·       Assist with our financial management and controls by processing invoices, providing analysis and support plus contributing to our year end preparation in advance of our annual audit - all of which contributes to our financial reporting including monthly management accounts and the financial aspects of our donor reporting.

 ·       Provision of budget advice and support to our operational teams in support of their project delivery. This work will include the sharing of regular financial reports, explaining the basics of budgeting and assisting non-finance colleagues to access the services provided by the wider finance function.

·       Supporting our HR Manager and Director of Finance, People & Governance in the delivery of our day-to-day HR function and associated procedures. This work will involve a focus on recruitment, onboarding and general enquiries in addition to contributing to delivering ‘best in class HR’ and continuous process improvement.

 ·       Focus on developing and sharing an understanding of good governance as far as this relates to London Sport as a charity and as a Sport England core funded organisation.   Supporting the development and implementation of policy improvements and procedures in this area as necessary.

 ·       Support the delivery of projects from inception to delivery, helping to ensure they are delivered within budget and on time.

 ·       Working with colleagues, assist in the securing of investment and funds that support the effective delivery of our work.

  

Who you are:

 ·       You have an understanding of the principles of either good governance, budget management and/or project management

 ·       You have a lived experience of day to day life in London.

 ·       You are capable of owning multiple tasks and seeing them through to their conclusion, meeting deadlines and prioritising work.

 ·       You can demonstrate a practical commitment to the Values and Behaviours of London Sport.

 ·       You can demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion in relation to London.
