Salary: £38,000 pro rata per annum

Hours: 17.5-21 hours per week. Other flexible arrangements will be considered.
Disclosure Level: Basic. This role involves no direct or indirect work with children.
Reports to: People Business Partner
Location: Working from home and at 1 Westfield Avenue, London E20 1HZ.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a number of policies due for review this year due to our regular schedule of reviews as well as forthcoming changes in employment law. The People Policy Specialist will take the lead on reviewing all policies assigned to them and developing guides, in collaboration with People team colleagues and others in the organisation. The postholder will also participate in policy-related aspects of our anti-racism programme.
What we will expect you to achieve
Review existing or develop new organisational policies and guides in line with employment legislation, best practice, inclusion and organisational context and requirements.
Collaborate with key stakeholders including our Staff Association and colleague networks, as appropriate, and ensuring our policies are developed in a way that aligns with and promotes our values.
Develop appropriate plans to embed revised or new policies and guides into current ways of working, in conjunction with People team colleagues.
Contribute to the development and implementation of HR/people-related elements of strategic organisational projects, most specifically relating to our anti-racism programme.
Contribute to the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives in collaboration with the People Business Partner and Mental Wellbeing Champions.
Coach, guide and advise people managers and colleagues on people policies.
Stay up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR best practice and trends to inform policy development, advice, and project implementation.

Relevant experience
Experience of developing and implementing HR/people-related policies and procedures in a values-based environment, ensuring consideration of inclusion, employment legislation, organisational culture, values and voice.
Experience at HR Adviser level or above in a busy environment.
Specific knowledge and skills
Strong and up-to-date knowledge and practical understanding of UK employment legislation and best practice.
Ability to quickly understand organisational culture and adapt approach to get engagement and buy-in.
Knowledge and understanding of inclusion in the employment context.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and conflicting demands.
Ability to present information in an accessible and compelling manner using a variety of methods to appeal to different audiences.
