Salary:
$140,000 - $160,000 pa + super depending on experience, pro rata for part time
Location:
Any Australian location, east coast hours preferred, working from home in Australia (supported by ACCR); or ACCR’s Sydney or Canberra office.
Role:
This new senior role will provide strategic financial leadership for ACCR in a dynamic period of rapid organisational growth. The position holder will come with extensive relevant CFO (or similar) experience, and be capable of quickly understanding ACCR’s context so as to be a trusted financial advisor to the Executive Director, our Board, and other leaders. The position will be accountable for ACCR’s financial management overall, leading a 1-2 person finance team.

Responsibilities
The role will include the following types of tasks:
In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and implement strategic plans, providing financial input into ACCR’s strategic direction and to guide fundraising targets and donor engagement
Lead and mentor a small finance team to deliver exceptional financial management
In collaboration with the Chief Operations Officer, develop and monitor finance and balance sheet-related policies and internal controls
Oversee ACCR’s financial and cash flow performance including developing relevant financial models, budgets and dynamically monitoring and re-forecasting
Manage ACCR’s investment portfolio and liquidity and implement and make recommendations as to its reserves and investment policies
Attend board-level meetings and support the Audit and Compliance Committee in the performance of its finance-related functions
Criteria
We’re looking for someone with these types of skills and experience in the following areas:
Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. accountant with CA or CPA or equivalent qualifications
Extensive experience in relevant finance roles, ideally at least 10 years’ experience as a CFO or in a similar capacity
An understanding of the not-for-profit space, ideally with experience in a not-for-profit organisation funded by grants and donations (including the development of budgets and financial reports for grantors) and an understanding of the impact of DGR status
Strong change management and strategy implementation skills
First class stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience engaging at board level
Critical and analytical thinking with excellent attention to detail
Alignment with the values and mission of ACCR
Able to clear a police check
