Social Investment Scotland (SIS) is a social investment finance intermediary (SIFI) operating across Scotland and beyond. Our mission is ‘to connect capital with communities, to make a real, measurable and sustainable impact upon peoples’ lives.’

Purpose of role
The Investment Manager is a key role at SIS being a main contact for our potential and existing customers.
The Investment Manager sits within the Communities Team and builds supportive relationships with Charities and Social Enterprises; primarily focusing on helping them access mission aligned investment whilst also providing exemplary levels of service to our existing customers.

Enterprises will be provided with the tools, support and inspiration to plan, create and scale their social impact;
Governments and their agencies can partner with social enterprises in a range of different ways, but particularly to enhance delivery of social impact;
Social entrepreneurs receive aligned investment and support;
Consumers and businesses can purchase products and services from social enterprises; and
Investors of all kinds can make purposeful investments for a financial and a social return.
Responsibilities will include:
This role is varied and involves being flexible in support of the needs of SIS. The role includes the following key responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of existing and new customer investments;
Support pipeline development opportunities within the team to identify and secure new opportunities assessing opportunities against investment criteria framework; and progress opportunities through diligence phase, including presentation of proposals at Credit Committee stage;
Work closely with the team, in particular the Investment Support Manager to ensure approved yet undrawn commitments are progressed and Conditions satisfied before drawdown;
Working across the SIS team, while supporting and building a network of stakeholders, supporters investors, and co-investment partners in line with the strategic vision and mission;
Attend SIS Market Building activities, and advocate for the work SIS does.
Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
We are looking for someone who brings:
Transactional / deal experience in company finance with experience of structuring investment/loan transactions;
Able to assess lending applications and guide applicants to help with their own investment readiness;
Experience of the social sector is desirable but not essential however, applicants should have an appreciation of the work and importance of social enterprise in Scotland and beyond;
Experience of working on own initiative, without ongoing direct supervision;
Experience of confidently delivering presentations and participating in meetings.
