Job Description

Who we are

Future Super was created as a mechanism to change a broken system. The system that perpetuates discrimination and inequality. The system that says profit comes first and that the only role of business is to create value for shareholders. The system that we all participate in through superannuation. Money makes the world go round. We’re working to spin it in the right direction.

About this role

Future Super is trying to change how people think about their money – specifically, their retirement savings. For too long, super funds have confused and disempowered people through communication. We want to do the opposite.

Our Senior Brand Designer is the custodian of how Future Super’s visual identity. But this isn’t just a design job, you’ll play a pivotal role in how we bring our ambition to life through our brand.

And you’ll get to work closely with some cool people. People who can juggle, are obsessed with sci-fi, want to learn permaculture, can recite Andrew Sorkin’s life work, run marathons (some fast), speak Spanish, have started companies and can save you if you fall off a sailboat in the middle of an ocean.

Who you are:

An activist who believes design can change how the world works.

At work you bring brand strategy to life in brand expression. You come from an agency or client background and want to get more into strategy and potentially build a team with your next move. You strongly believe design is underestimated and that communication is the way people understand the world. You want to work in a team where you can radically change how a brand does things.

You might not tell us in the first interview but you’re kind of a nerd too. You obsess over new things you’re learning and are constantly looking for outside inspiration. You’d love bringing these obsessions to the team and teaching us all you know.

  • 4-6 years' design experience

  • Knowledgeable about brands and how they exist

  • A willingness to experiment, try new tools, formats, and experiences

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign - motion, video editing big plus

You'll love working here with a team of activists who want to change the world.

Some company perks include:

  • Team lunches, drinks and company-wide events

  • 14 weeks’ paid parental leave for all genders and a generous parental superannuation package, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), formal training and development with continuous improvement opportunities, a continuous supply of healthy office snacks, membership to Bicycle NSW as part of our sustainable transport policy and two days' paid volunteer leave

  • Future Super is an equal opportunity employer – we provide flexible working hours, the option to work from home and a laptop you can use to work remotely

We value our teammates for their unique perspective on the world, and we strive to create a creative environment where we are psychologically safe, in order to brave creative work. We don’t believe that one should come at the expense of the other.

We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with a disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mature age workers and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people. Seriously. The problems we face are complex and the more diversity of experiences we can bring to the table the better our solutions become.
