You will provide strategic leadership to the teams in their role of providing high quality specialist technical services and expert capability; ensuring their role of developing, maintaining and promoting appropriate standards, guidance and best practice on the application of building services engineering and civil & structural engineering is directed in support of national and regional corporate priorities.
You will lead the closer integration of these teams to maintain and enhance a powerful and nationally recognised centre of excellence in all aspects of the application of engineering to the repair, maintenance and adaptation of the historic built environment. You will do this by forging close links with Regional Delivery teams and other teams in Historic England; you will drive the development of diverse income streams for services (including provision of Shared Service support) to increase the resilience of the teams and Historic England.

Ability to communicate persuasively with staff at all levels, and with colleagues and a diversity of external partners, both verbally and in writing, in a manner which instils and inspires confidence
