Job Description

Who are Uncrowd?

We do something that has never been possible before, which is to explain when and why a customer might prefer entity-a instead of entity-b. It’s a simple idea but with staggering power; our SaaS platform is essentially able to explain precisely how a retailer, or bank, or restaurant or whatever can win more of the time. It’s like a treasure map without the guessing, X really does mark the spot.

Our culture.

We’re a start-up that’s scaling up with ambition to reach unicorn in a few years’ time. We have something genuinely unique which is both exciting and challenging. Exciting because we are able to punch way above our weight in terms of c-suite penetration and challenging because we’re continually building credibility and trust to support our inventiveness and uniqueness.

And it’s working. In fact, it’s working brilliantly and consequently we’re growing fast.

  • We’re ambitious. We’re looking to significantly grow our client base and internationalise our business.

  • We’re brave. We’re a small business playing on the same field as the big boys and we believe we can win.

  • We turn up differently. We don’t re-enact corporate playbooks. We do our own thing, which gives us huge creative latitude and massive cut-through.

We’re human. Uncrowd is committed to re-thinking how to ‘do’ business. We are already inclusive & diverse, flexible and fair. We want our people to be able to balance work and life, to use their time with us to develop & learn and we are committed to making the workplace an environment that fosters growth in an enjoyable, exciting and entrepreneurial environment.

The role:

We are looking to hire a full stack developer who is happy to get stuck in, to work alongside the existing development team, and reporting directly to the CTO. Your role will be to turn business briefs into actionable / secure code, as we scale up our existing software stack.

Requirements / Experience:

  • PHP

  • MS SQL

  • Creating API endpoints

  • JavaScript / jQuery

  • Testing methodologies

  • GIT / Azure DevOps

  • Knowledge of coding best practices, producing clean secure code in line with company guidelines.

  • Agile Development Methodologies

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

  • Participation in code reviews

Optional Experience:

  • NoSQL database technologies

Package:

  • Competitive salary and benefit

  • Uncrowd supports a hybrid/flexible working environment

  • Generous share options

  • Generous maternity and paternity leave

  • Workplace pension

Based:

Uncrowd are located between St Pancras Station and Camden High St, near to the Coal Drops Yard, a vibrant and newly gentrified part of London, home to excellent bars and restaurants, shopping, social spaces and the Grand Union Canal.

Flexible working:

Uncrowd operates as a 3:2/2:3-office/home business. Colleagues can also choose their own hours, on office days that means flexibility to start anytime up to 11:00AM.
