This role leads the organisation’s busy press office function and generates news, PR and broadcast opportunities and strategies that build traction, provoke conversation, win hearts and minds, and keep hunger and food bank use at the forefront of the national conversation. This role is responsible for handling complex media enquiries, building proactive relationships with key publications and journalists, and developing responses to issues of reputational risk to the charity. It leads on the development of complex policy stories and campaigns and delivers a strategy for earned media that increases awareness, understanding and consideration of our mission and goal. This role has line management responsibility for two Press Officers.
