About the role
Norton House Stanford Hall is a large 8-bedroom home for families visiting injured service personnel undergoing rehabilitation at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Stanford Hall, near Loughborough.
The residents are the next of kin or main support network of their loved one receiving treatment at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC). The staff members work individually and as part of a team to provide the necessary support to the families in residence.
Our part-time Housekeepers are responsible for ensuring that Norton House is kept in good order providing a clean and hygienic environment for patients and their families. The post-holder will have the opportunity to learn about the wide range of services that the charity delivers to serving personnel, veterans, and their families, as well as participate in activities involving our guests.
Housekeepers will have the opportunity to assist with fundraising and outreach activities in the local community.
The role is 20hrs per week, Mon – Fri. Some weekend working may be required.
Norton House is in the same village as the DMRC but not on the same site.
About the team
The team is made up of the Housing Manager, a Deputy Housing Manager, a Family Support Worker and 2 part-time Housekeepers. It is a very close-knit team that works well together and provides a great service for our guests. Everyone is involved in helping to make Norton House the best it can be.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have previous experience of housekeeping or cleaning and have knowledge of safe working practices. You need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Laundry is done in-house and the ability to iron neatly and efficiently is essential. Having a First Aid qualification is a bonus, or you will need to undertake training. As part of a small team, you will need to be flexible, including occasional out of hours working, any extra hours worked will be compensated by time off in lieu (TOIL). Should you be successful, a DBS check is necessary and will be completed as part of your onboarding checks.
