Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week. Other flexible arrangements will be considered
Disclosure Level: Basic - This role involves no direct or indirect work with children

Location: Working from home and at 1 Westfield Avenue, London E20 1HZ

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Finance Team incorporates a range of functions including Financial Control and Reporting, Donations Processing, Finance Business Partnering and Procurement. The Team is part of a wider Directorate, which includes the Legal and Information Teams.
The Finance Team contributes to Unicef UK’s positive impact for children by working with the wider organisation to maximise the value of our supporters’ donations and to safeguard our funds and assets.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As one of three Finance Assistants reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will be part of the Financial Control and Reporting Team. You will work alongside the wider Finance Team to ensure the complete and accurate recording of financial transactions, enabling reliable reporting to support key management decisions. The role requires regular communication with all departments within UNICEF UK to provide information and deal with financial queries.
What we will expect you to achieve
Income
· Daily import of income data from CRM system
· Preparation of income invoices and monitoring of payment
Expenditure
· Process supplier invoices into Finance system
· Distribute invoices promptly for authorisation to the relevant teams
· Prepare and check weekly payment runs (cheques and BACS)
· Shared responsibility for handling queries from suppliers or staff
Cash
· Manage petty cash and cash advance payments to staff on an ongoing basis
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Other
· Carry out other appropriate tasks to support the Finance team’s work, such as supporting the wider organisation to adhere to policies e.g. expense claims, credit card usage; supporting on implementation of new procedures and technology, identifying efficiencies and making improvements to existing processes.

Relevant experience
Finance administration experience such as processing of financial data.
Customer focused experience such as coordinating and liaising with different teams and stakeholders within and outside the organisation
Specific knowledge and skills
Not qualified and part qualified candidates are encouraged to apply
Use Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
