Job Description

EDI Associate Consultant Talent Pool

Company

Diversity is a reality. Inclusion is a choice.™

Included is a global, impact-led consultancy. We build inclusive organisations through bringing together smart people who care about diversity and inclusion.

Included builds inclusive cultures through developing leadership and re-engineering systems and processes. We positively disrupt the Boardroom in corporations, academia, media and government. We achieve measurable change - greater representation (diversity) and more conscious decision-making (inclusion) to benefit individuals, organisations and the world at large. Our work covers five areas:

1. Strategy: we work directly with CEOs and HRDs to make EDI part of corporate strategy

2. Data: we design, model and measure inclusion to permit more accurate interventions

3. Governance: we observe and improve corporate decision making from Board to shop floor

4. Leadership: we deliver keynotes, coaching and our full Inclusive Leadership programme to reframe inclusion as a personal leadership responsibility

5. Systems: we de-bias critical business processes such as recruitment and procurement

Included has world-class capabilities in designing and implementing programmes in the public, private and third sectors. Founded as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, we are passionate about benefitting the clients we work with. They range from world-renowned tech and finance companies to universities, charities and TV companies. Whilst a significant proportion of our clientele are based in London and the UK, we work internationally. Included creates real impact - we are a scale-up with big ambition and want to achieve even more.

Role

We are increasing our team of talented Associate Consultants to help us bring about change in society by transforming organisations, inspiring mindset and behavioural shifts, and embedding inclusion into the employee and customer experience.

You will work with colleagues to deliver high impact solutions for clients around the world. You will be responsible for helping them achieve their ambitions to become more inclusive and more impactful in their fields as they progress their EDI maturity. This requires the confidence and tact to challenge appropriately, the experience to partner effectively with senior leaders, and a personal conviction in the value of your work that enthuses those around you.

You will build instant credibility with our clientele across multiple industries and geographies and Included will support you to be successful in your role. As an Associate each project you deliver is supported by a project executive and a senior consultant, acting as project sponsor, providing delivery and consulting support as well as accountability.

As an Associate you also become part of a network of leading consultants who collaborate on projects, share ideas and build and refine our thought leadership on critical issues. We meet regularly creating opportunities to connect, challenge and support each other. Many of our associates have been connected to Included since its inception and have been instrumental in shaping our outlook today.

This is not a typical consulting role. We are a consultancy but with a profound purpose - delivering our services that change mindsets and behaviours, that drive organisational change, and ultimately positively impact the wider world.

Opportunities

We have opportunities for Associates across all areas of our work covering strategy, data, governance, leadership and systems, with a particular need for EDI data analysis expertise. Included offer a range of EDI solutions from single deliveries (a keynote or a piece of policy analysis) to long term interventions combining multiple workstreams over an extended period. Much of our activity involves Associate consultants as part of the delivery team.

Candidate Skills

  • Subject matter expertise and a high level of consulting acumen developed in previous consulting roles or leadership roles where consulting skills have been required

  • Ability to apply and adapt validated management, leadership and learning models and frameworks to deliver robust outcomes

  • Executive-level client engagement and advisory ability

  • Expert communication skills to deepen existing client relationships and build new ones

  • Client-focused with leadership experience of inspiring and influencing a range of delegates and stakeholders from junior team members to CEOs

  • Impact and results focused with a passion for inclusion and appreciation of the value EDI can bring to organisations and the wider world

  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all stakeholders, both internally and externally,

  • Facilitation expertise (where relevant) – expert in facilitating a room of diverse stakeholders (in person and virtually), leveraging innovative technology to inspire and communicate effectively

  • Communications and presentation expertise – expert in the modern (digital) presentation technology. Excellent verbal, written and organisational skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Champion the Included brand; to adapt, improve and grow with us, acting as an ambassador for the work we do

  • Ability to challenge and hold your ground in an empathetic and non-defensive manner.

  • Value and demonstrate humility in approach

Subject specific skills

Data

  • Experience with basic quantitative data analysis (regression analysis, difference of means tests (ANOVAs, T-tests, etc.), descriptive statistics)

  • Ability to translate statistical data and information into simple terms for someone without a statistical background (verbal, written, visual), including combining quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop cohesive and coherent explanations of information

  • Experience with survey development, ideally in a real-world (not just lab) setting OR experience with developing measurement methods in workplace settings (e.g. index development, randomised field experiments, a/b testing, etc.)

    Systems

  • Ability to analyse large quantities of data relating to specific systems and processes (product, people, digital etc), identifying the causes of non-inclusive and discriminatory outcomes and designing solutions that can be effective within the existing operational context.

About Included

  • We genuinely live our values - Courage to be disruptive (Speak truth unto power), Restless and tenacious (Achieve the highest standards) and Dare to be different (Be yourself, flex your role, have fun)

Our approach to being an inclusive employer

This means creating a space in which every member of our team is psychologically safe to challenge productively and positively, and to bring their unique lived experience, expertise and talent to work each day.

We actively recruit from as wide a pool as possible, particularly welcoming applicants from marginalised communities. We think and care deeply about social background, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, and other forms of diversity.

Our commitment to reasonable adjustments begins at the application stage. If you need any assistance to support your application please contact us via email info@included.com
