Job Description

Project Description:

  • The Launch Operations Intern at Alba Orbital will spearhead an 8-week project, focusing on vital 

    intersections between our launch department and business development team. This internship entails 

    thorough research into potential launch service providers, ensuring their alignment with Alba Orbital's 

    satellite deployment needs. Concurrently, the intern will contribute to the creation of customer-facing 

    materials, enhancing our client communication channels. This involves developing informative portals 

    and materials to clearly communicate our launch processes and capabilities. The goal is to 

    seamlessly connect our launch operations with business development, fostering strategic partnerships 

    and facilitating Alba Orbital's growth in the space technology sector. This role provides hands-on 

    experience in market analysis, supplier relations, and customer-centric communication strategies, 

    making a tangible impact on our mission to advance space exploration through small satellite 

    solutions.

Applicant Specification:

  • During the Launch Operations Internship, we anticipate the development of a diverse set of technical 

    and human skills crucial for success in the space technology sector. The intern will gain proficiency in 

    market analysis, researching and evaluating launch service providers based on capabilities, cost, and 

    reliability. They will also learn to effectively communicate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and 

    establish productive partnerships. Crafting customer-facing materials will enhance their ability to 

    convey complex technical information in a clear and engaging manner, improving client interaction 

    and satisfaction. Additionally, the intern will develop technical skills in web development and design 

    through the creation of informative portals. The internship will foster effective verbal and written 

    communication skills, essential for collaborating with internal teams and engaging with external 

    stakeholders. Addressing challenges in supplier selection and customer communication will cultivate 

    problem-solving abilities, while working at the intersection of different departments will enhance 

    teamwork and interpersonal skills. Exposure to diverse tasks and situations within the project will

Minimum requirements:

  • Academic Requirements 

    - Strong academic background, preferably in a STEM Field, although applicants from other 

    backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

    Desirable Requirements: 

    - Prior experience or coursework in market analysis, supplier relations, customer communication, or

    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

    - Familiarity with web development tools 

    - Adaptability and problem-solving skills 

    - Strong attention to detail 

Process details:

  • 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate
