Job Description

The Green Party's campaign team is seeking a Community Outreach Officer to boost our efforts to engage communities across the city-region who are too often overlooked by mainstream politics. This is a two-month assignment that is hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of a high-stakes period of summer campaigning, working directly with the regional Campaign Manager to build relationships, mobilise volunteers, and ensure our message reaches every corner of Greater Manchester's ten boroughs. The applicant would need to be available immediately.

The Green Party is committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of Greater Manchester. We know that people from working-class backgrounds, Global Majority backgrounds, refugees and migrants and people without traditional political experience are particularly under-represented in politics and political campaigning — and we want that to change.

If you don't have a conventional CV or background in politics, but you have experience connecting with people, organising in your community, or building trust where it's needed most, we want to hear from you. Lived experience and community knowledge are as valuable to us as formal qualifications.

We welcome applications from everyone and particularly encourage those from backgrounds currently under-represented in political campaigning to apply. If you're unsure whether you meet every point in the person specification, please apply anyway — we'd rather hear from you.
