The National Institute of Teaching is looking for a Project Officer to support the coordination, administration and delivery of important projects across our growing national organisation.

As Project Officer, you will play an important role in helping our projects run smoothly, ensuring plans, records, meetings, communications and reporting are well organised, accurate and delivered to agreed timescales.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with people, keeping activity on track and making sure the detail is right. You will support project planning and monitoring, coordinate meetings and actions, maintain project documentation, gather and present information, and work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and campuses. You will also support regional delivery activity at your local campus, contributing directly to the experience of our participants, trainees and partners.
We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a positive, solutions-focused approach. You will be a confident communicator, able to build professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and comfortable managing a varied workload in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Corporate responsibilities
To ensure that the responsibilities of the role are carried out in a way which reflects the mission and the values of the NIoT.

Main duties and responsibilities
Support the Contracts and Projects Manager with the effective coordination and delivery of projects, ensuring that activity is well planned, organised and delivered to agreed timescales.
Maintain accurate project plans, trackers, risk logs and other project documentation, ensuring information is up to date and accessible to relevant colleagues.
Coordinate project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas and papers, taking notes, recording actions and following up with colleagues to ensure agreed actions are completed.
Support communication with internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries, sharing information and helping to build positive and professional working relationships.
Assist with the monitoring and reporting of project progress, including gathering updates, identifying risks or delays, and escalating issues where appropriate.
Support the administration of contracts and project-related processes, ensuring records are accurate, compliant and managed in line with NIoT policies and procedures.
Collate, analyse and present information to support project planning, decision-making and continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and campuses to support effective project delivery and ensure that work is joined up.
To support with regional delivery at your local campus. This will involve setting up for delivery sessions and welcoming participants/trainees.
To sit on the viva assessment panels for a maximum of three days per year to support the process.
To attend and support the delivery of the annual NIoT Graduation Day.
Essential criteria

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, trackers, plans and project documentation.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.
Experience of providing effective administrative or project support in a busy team or organisational environment.
Confidence using Microsoft Office or similar tools to create documents, maintain spreadsheets, manage information and support reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams, build positive working relationships and follow up on actions in a constructive way.
A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to identify risks, delays or issues and escalate them appropriately.
Willingness to support occasional delivery activity, events and travel as required by the role..
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Desirable criteria
Experience of working in an education, public sector, charity or mission-led organisation.
Experience of supporting projects, contracts, events or programme delivery.
Experience of coordinating meetings, preparing papers, taking notes and tracking actions.
Experience of collating, analysing or presenting information to support monitoring, reporting or decision-making.
Familiarity with project management tools, systems or approaches.
Working at the National Institute of Teaching
Contract: Full time and temporary until 31 August 2030 to cover an internal secondment.
Salary: £34,434 per annum plus benefits (pending pay award)
