Job Description

We are excited to be recruiting a University Events Manager to support The Scholars Programme team to deliver the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026. This role will be central in ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional events for students across the UK by working closely with our key programme stakeholders, particularly university stakeholders.

This role will lead on ensuring that online, in-school and on-campus events are designed and delivered to a high standard, and provide a rich, sector-leading experience to students aged 9-17. The University Events Manager will confidently build and maintain event planning relationships with a wide range of university stakeholders. They will line manage a small team and collaborate closely with other teams in the charity, leading on internal processes and training to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of events.

They will be up to date with the widening access and participation agenda and familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing the UK higher education sector.

The role requires an accomplished, highly organised and detail-oriented professional, with proven experience of event planning and delivery.  They will champion the charity’s values and embody them in interactions with colleagues and partners, establishing themselves as someone who can be relied upon, supporting the whole team and proactively finding ways to improve what we do.

This role will involve some travel across the UK to support the planning and delivery of events at our different university partners.

While this role can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.
