Job Description

Overview

Responsible Finance is the UK trade body for social finance providers called community development finance institutions (CDFIs), otherwise known as responsible finance providers. Responsible finance providers tackle financial exclusion by investing in people, businesses and social enterprises who can’t access mainstream financial services. This means lending money to people who might otherwise be forced to resort to loan sharks, to businesses who have been declined by their bank, enabling them to grow and create jobs, and to social enterprises to help them to scale up their impact in communities.

As the voice for the responsible finance industry, we want the UK to have a diverse financial system where investment flows into communities to create positive social, environmental and economic impact. To enable this, we lead a strong responsible finance sector, giving communities access to finance and the opportunity to transform lives. The Responsible Finance team is passionate about its work and is seeking a committed and motivated individual to join the team.

Purpose of role

This is a two part role: to provide high quality bookkeeping and administrative services to enable the Responsible Finance team to work effectively on a day-to-day basis. As bookkeeper, this role will support the Finance Consultant and is responsible for transaction entry, invoicing and general finance/payroll administration. On the administration side, this role is responsible for organising meetings, managing registration for our online compliance training, managing our filing and maintaining good record keeping.

This is a permanent part-time role: 15 hours per week. There is flexibility around working hours. There is potential that more hours would be needed during busy periods. The Responsible Finance team works predominately remotely with occasional in person meetings throughout the year. A computer will be provided by Responsible Finance for remote working.
