Head of Communications
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum + excellent benefits, including 27 days holiday, 2:1 pension (up to 12% employer contribution), plus many more
Location: London/Hybrid with an expectation of regular in person meetings and events in London; with flexibility on working from home at other times.

That’s nearly a third of all adults in the UK.
We are Fair4All Finance. We are a not-for-profit organisation working with Financial Services providers to improve the financial wellbeing of people in vulnerable circumstances by increasing access to fair, affordable and appropriate financial products and services.
We are continuing our work following our latest round of funding, and as a result we are now seeking a Head of Communications to take our profile, influence and impact to the next level. This is a pivotal new role, leading an integrated communications strategy that will shape how we tell our story, influence change, and raise the profile of financial inclusion with the public, policymakers and the financial services sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and creative communicator to join us at a critical point in our journey, working alongside senior leaders to strengthen our voice, manage media engagement, and empower colleagues to act as advocates and spokespeople.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of a compelling communications strategy that builds our reputation and raises awareness of financial inclusion
Oversee brand positioning and ensure consistency of messaging across all channels
Lead thought leadership initiatives including speeches, op-eds and proactive media engagement
Act as a public spokesperson for Fair4All Finance and financial inclusion, building strong relationships with journalists across national, trade and specialist media
Manage crisis communications and reputational risk, providing senior counsel and oversight
Oversee digital communications including website, social media and newsletters
Lead, coach and develop the Communications team and external partners
Support senior leaders and board members to act as ambassadors and spokespeople
Set and manage the communications budget, ensuring campaigns are impactful and cost-effective
Use media monitoring and analytics to assess and improve effectiveness
Essential experience & qualifications:
Extensive senior-level experience in communications, including strategy development and delivery
Proven track record in media relations and crisis communications in a high-profile or regulated environment
Strong understanding of how to build brand reputation and influence change through strategic messaging
Experience working in or alongside financial services, regulated sectors, or public policy
Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills
Experience managing high-performing teams and external suppliers
Desirable experience
Experience supporting public sector or mission-led organisations
Familiarity with financial inclusion, social justice, or economic policy issues
Person Profile

Calm and confident under pressure, with strong judgment and risk awareness
A collaborative and supportive leader, skilled at building relationships internally and externally

Founded in 2019, we are funded from the Dormant Assets Scheme. The scheme is led by the financial industry and backed by the UK government. This makes it possible for money in dormant bank and building society accounts to be used to help good causes.
