We’re looking for an Events Adviser to join our Member Relations, Partnerships and Events team. You’ll impact the delivery of around 40 member events a year, ensuring each runs to schedule and on budget. To get an idea of what’s coming up, check out our events page.

What’s the job?

  • Own and lead on the planning and organising of ABI events with the wider team.

  • Lead on events technology and creative outputs including design (working with an external agency), events engagement tools and marketing.

  • Work with the Assistant Director and Manager to on partnership and sponsorship activities.

  • Ensure the customer relationship management system (CRM) is administered and used to its full functionality from an events and member engagement point of view.

  • Input into the events business planning process by meeting with all ABI teams and collating events wishes for the following year, compiling a draft calendar and producing draft budgets.

  • Be responsible for the management for each allocated event, working with colleagues in other departments who will undertake appropriate administrative tasks. This also includes monitoring and submitting budgets.

  • Manage external relationships with suppliers, sponsors, external speakers.

 

What skills do you need?

  • Organisation – you can prioritise and manage a busy workload with minimal supervision and have incredible attention to detail.

  • Prioritisation – you can work at speed, are resilient and, due to the nature of events, can be available outside normal working hours when required

  • Communication skills – you tailor your comms to your audience and adapt to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Relationship management – your interpersonal skills are second to none and you work flexibly and proactively with others to get work done.
