Job Description

About dxw

dxw works with the public and third sectors to create services and products that improve lives.

We’ve been around since 2008 and worked on lots of projects that have made a real difference – things like helping to track aid spending and looking at how to improve digital collaboration between local authorities.

dxw is employee-owned and our people have an important voice in the direction of the company. People are at the forefront of what we do — the people who work at dxw, our clients, and the people we create services for.

We work effectively, remotely, with people based all around the UK. We keep in touch all the time for work and for social things, and some of us get together in person in our Leeds HQ and co-working spaces in London when we can.

GovPress, by dxw

This role is part of the GovPress team. GovPress is dxw’s website development, hosting, and support service for public sector and charitable organisations.

We’ve been working with WordPress for over 14 years and we offer a range of bespoke services. We host high profile websites like NHS England, and the National Audit Office and we also look after smaller websites, like the Safety Tech Network and settle housing. Right now we look after 95 websites and have 60 clients. We have ambitious plans for growth and this role will play a key part in this.

About the role

As an Account Executive in the GovPress team and at dxw, you are a link between our clients and the technical team.

You’ll be working alongside an Account Manager, who’ll likely line manage you, to make sure we provide a great experience for our clients, and that their websites are being optimised and meeting users’ needs.

You will provide consistent and dependable support for clients, and facilitate clear and open communication between them and the technical support team. This includes being a point of contact for questions or issues raised via Zendesk (our digital helpdesk).

As you begin to get a better understanding of our clients and their needs, we hope you’ll start to identify opportunities for new websites or enhanced features, defining, shaping and selling future work.

You’ll train new clients in using Zendesk, and, once familiar and confident, sometimes in using the WordPress block editor.

You will regularly check in with clients to build relationships and gather feedback. You will also help clients as we move from the delivery of a new website to support and maintenance. You will work with our commercial team to track contracts, flagging issues and potential risks.

We see great potential for this role.

About you

You will be motivated by providing good service to our clients.

You will have good attention to detail, be well organised and able to manage time independently.

You are an optimistic problem-solver, and keen to get stuck into a variety of tasks.

You’re able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

You’re willing to learn about the technical aspects of the work we do and how to talk about it in simple terms for a non-technical audience.  Some previous experience of WordPress would be useful, but not essential.

Join us!

You can learn more about dxw, how we work and what matters to us on our website and by reading our playbook.

Our public sector work means that appointments will be made subject to a background check and you must be located and eligible to work in the UK at the point of application. Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship.

For applicants living in a London borough, we offer an additional payment of up to £4,000 per year to staff who earn under £40,000 per year to help them with the additional costs of living in London. For salaries above this level, London weighting will gradually taper off (by £500 for each £1000 of extra salary) between £40,000 and £48,000.

We are committed to making our teams as diverse as possible and to creating an environment where everyone feels included and can be themselves. We welcome non-traditional paths and aim to hire the right person for the role.

If you have any questions around the role, we’d be pleased to answer them. Send a message to recruitment@dxw.com and we’ll get back to you.
