Project Description:
Astroscale is looking for an intern to work on in-orbit servicing market and competitor analysis. The successful candidate will map industry landscape and competitive dynamics, as well as synthesize market research to inform strategy decisions. This is a unique opportunity for a student to become embedded in a strategic role, while learning the ins and outs of the space sustainability and in-orbit servicing industries.
The successful intern will be working with the Finance and Business Analysis (BA) teams to inform strategic decision-making. The BA team works across Astroscale to build a business case for the in-orbit servicing market. The team also develops market intelligence and strategy to achieve a sustainable space environment across all orbits. We are looking for an intern to assist with work on in-orbit servicing market and competitor analysis. The ideal candidate would have commercial competency, strong analytic skills, and a passion for Astroscale’s work.
Key Responsibilities:
Map and understand industry landscape and competitive dynamics
Gather and synthesise market research to inform Astroscale UK strategy decisions
Develop business cases to further space sustainability and in-orbit servicing markets
Assess project economics and model financial indicators

Applicant Specification:
On track to complete a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in any of the following areas; Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Policy
Minimum requirements:
Passionate about Astroscale’s mission and space sustainability in general
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and written/verbal communication skills including to both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to use logic to collect, evaluate and synthesize multiple sources of information, e.g. articles and research papers
Analytical mindset and strong quantitative skills – ability to think critically and creatively
Desirable requirements:
Relevant previous internships or project experience
Knowledge of Python, Power BI
Process details:
1 hour competency and skills based interview, conducted in person or online.
8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate
In-person Induction Event to be held on 24th June 2024, and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held in Autumn 2024
5 days holiday to be taken during the placement
