Job Description

Reports to: Digital Director

About us:

The Jewish Voice for Peace family of organizations organizes a grassroots, multiracial, cross-class, intergenerational movement of U.S. Jews into solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle, guided by a vision of justice, equality and dignity for all people. Jewish Voice for Peace Action (JVP Action), our 501(c)(4) organization, is now doing business as Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), while our 501(c)(3) work continues through JVP Leadership and Culture Lab (JVP Lab).

As a 501(c)(3), JVP Lab worked for 30 years as an educational and basebuilding organization and contributed to a sea change in public understanding. As a 501(c)(4), JVP will engage in legislative and limited electoral-related work, including but not limited to challenging the roles of Democratic and Republican officials and challenging AIPAC.

Meanwhile, the 501(c)(3) JVP Lab will continue to carry out its educational, cultural, and leadership-development mission, and will continue to provide nonpartisan educational and charitable programs that anyone can participate in, regardless of whether they are a member of the 501(c)(4).

About the Role:

The Digital Editorial Coordinator is part of the Digital Department team responsible for executing JVP's email program — loading, building, and sending emails on time and with precision, while supporting the broader digital communications operation.

Specifically, the coordinator will:

  • Load, build, and send email, text message, and digital action campaigns as directed, according to best practices laid out by the Digital Department

  • Compose and lightly edit emails based on notes, drafts, or templates provided by Digital Department staff and other team members

  • Manage the email calendar, keeping track of scheduled emails and significant dates across the JVP family of organizations

  • Assist with website administration, including but not limited to building the weekly JVP Wire; posting statements and other content; and updating chapter maps and other organizational details

  • Run A/B tests using tools and parameters defined by senior digital staff, and report on results

  • Track email performance and list health, running regular reports for the Digital Department

  • Support chapter and staff digital requests

  • Communicate clearly across departments to help staff follow established best practices for submitting email and digital requests

  • Assist with audience segmentation and list management in the CRM

JVP is a union workplace, and this role is part of our staff union.

Skills Needed:

As a part of our commitment to equitable hiring, all applicants will be assessed according to the following skills.

  • Extremely attentive to detail — accuracy in execution is the core of this role

  • Strong task management skills, including managing multiple tasks with tight and shifting deadlines, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders. Has familiarity with project management software (experience with tools such as Asana in particular, but Jira, Trello, or similar) or a high capacity to learn quickly and independently

  • Has familiarity with CRM software (experience with tools such as Action Network in particular, but, EveryAction or similar is a plus) or a high capacity to learn quickly and independently

  • Excellent proofreading skills, with the ability to make light edits while preserving voice and intent

Please note: As part of JVP’s commitment to equity and transparency, we have a no negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality.

Our Job Application Process:

We aim to be transparent and efficient in our hiring process. Each question you will be asked throughout our hiring process ties directly back to one of the skills and experiences listed above. In each stage, you will be asked to provide examples of these skills and experiences or how you would draw on your experience to handle a scenario commonly found at JVP. The hiring committee will not look at your CV/resume or any identifying information until you have been invited to a first round interview, and will make those initial decisions based on your answers to the initial set of questions.
