Job Description

Project Description:

  • The Cornwall Space Cluster is one of the UK leading space ecosystoms; home to Spaceport Cornwall and Goonhilly Earth Station. We are looking for a SPINtern to work with one of our largest stakeholders, Cornwall Council, to help identify new use cases of how the council can use satellite data to make it more efficient and effective in the future. The successful candidate will be required to create a comprehensive report highlighting opportunities and scoring each opportunity depending on a number of factors including cost, effectiveness, implementation and scalability.

Applicant Specification:

  • Ideally applicants will have a minimum of bachelor degree study, however all will be considered. Some knowledge of the local space sector will be beneficial, as would knowledge of local authorities, challenges and opportunities within them.

Minimum requirements:

  • Passion and enthusiasm

  • Great communicator who can communicate advanced information in a simple way

  • Self starter

  • Motivated

  • Great report writing skills - Succinct and to the point

  • Knowledge of space data

  • Creative thinker

Process details:

  • 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate

  • 5 days holiday to be taken during the placement
