Job Description
The Senior Internal Communications & Engagement Business Partner is responsible for delivering high-quality, strategic internal communications and employee engagement activity across PRI. They sit at the heart of the organisation and our strategy, reporting to the Chief of Staff – Principal Strategy Lead. This role plays a key role in ensuring employees are informed, aligned, and engaged – supporting organisational priorities, strengthening culture, and enabling effective change.
Working closely with the Executive Team, Directors and cross-functional teams, the role combines strategic planning with hands-on delivery across channels, campaigns and leadership engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic internal communications
Support the development and delivery of PRI’s internal communications strategy aligned to organisational priorities
Translate complex strategy, change and operational updates into clear, engaging and accessible messaging
Ensure consistency of messaging, tone and narrative across internal channels
Contribute to the development of a clear organisational narrative that supports alignment and understanding
Leadership and stakeholder communications
Act as a trusted advisor to Directors and senior leaders on communication and engagement approaches that support organisational priorities and effective change
Develop leadership briefing materials, talking points, FAQs and cascade plans
Coach stakeholders on best practice communication approaches, tone, and timing
Support Executive Team communications, ensuring strategic priorities, decisions and organisational updates are communicated with clarity, consistency and impact
Employee engagement and experience
Design and deliver employee engagement initiatives that foster connection, inclusion, and collaboration
Support organisation-wide engagement moments (e.g. organisational announcements, change initiatives, employee network events)
Use feedback (e.g. employee engagement committee, surveys, listening channels) to inform communication activity and improve impact
Change communications
Lead or support communications for organisational change, transformation programmes and key strategic initiatives
Develop clear communications plans, stakeholder mapping and messaging frameworks
Ensure sensitive topics are handled with care, clarity and consistency
Channels, content and campaigns
Manage and continuously improve internal communications channels (e.g. intranet, monthly all hands, leadership briefings)
Plan and deliver high-quality, multi-channel communications campaigns
Ensure content is timely, relevant and aligned to business priorities
Introduce new formats and approaches to improve engagement and reach
Planning, governance and measurement
Lead or support internal communications planning aligned to business priorities and cycles
Provide guidance, training and templates to support consistent communications across the organisation
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activity, using data and insight to drive improvement
Person Specification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex or sensitive information into clear, engaging messages
Experience developing and delivering communications that support organisational change, transformation or strategic initiatives
Collaborative and consultative attitude towards working with others, committed to fostering an inclusive working environment
A bias for action – a ‘doer’ who demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset in gathering information, proactively setting the internal communications agenda and thinking of new ways to engage colleagues
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience building trusted relationships with senior leaders and advising on sensitive or high-profile communications
Sound judgement and discretion, with experience handling sensitive or confidential information
Experience planning and delivering internal communications or engagement activity that supports organisational priorities
Ability to use data and insight (e.g. surveys, feedback) to evaluate impact and continuously improve communications
Experience using digital tools and channels to deliver effective, targeted communications across a global organisation
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver through others
