Job Description

About Thrive®

Thrive equips teaching staff to help children and young people understand and manage their emotions, so they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Over 50,000 staff in 2,600 schools and settings have received Thrive training, ensuring that 600,000 children and young people aged 0-25 have access to the Thrive Approach. We are looking to grow to reach 1.5 million students.

Thrive offers training, online assessments, and expert strategies for working with pupils to improve attendance, behaviour and attainment.

About you and the role

This role will work within the Marketing team and report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

We are looking for a social media whiz to embrace the vibrant Thrive community of education practitioners, and turbo charge their ability to learn, share, and connect with us - and each other.

Thrive is at the heart of a movement of people committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. We believe that social and emotional skills underpin good attendance, behaviour and attainment in nursery, primary and secondary school - and lead to a happy fulfilling life.

This is the movement we need you to grow. Organic growth has resulted in tens of thousands of people on each of our social platforms, many of them passionate advocates of Thrive. Now we want to understand more about who they are, bring those with common areas of interest together, and determine how we can serve them better.

Shaping our direction

You will set out a vision for the future of the Thrive community and our social media presence. Through shaping and implementing a social media strategy you will increase the size of our movement, achieve high levels of engagement among followers, raise the profile of Thrive, build links with key influencers in education, mental health and wellbeing, and showcase Thrive knowledge and insights in these areas.

  • Managing the running of pages and groups including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.

  • Reacting in real time to trending topics and joining/steering conversations where appropriate.

  • Listening, engaging, and stimulating discussion –noting trends and promptly replying to questions.

  • Attracting new community members and turning existing customers into engaged brand advocates.

Social media management

On a day to day basis your job will be fast paced and varied.

  • Setting and upholding rules of engagement for community members - including internal stakeholders.

  • Getting the attention of, and adding genuine value to, Thrive’s target audiences.

  • Positioning Thrive within wider movements (e.g., education, mental health, neuroscience, child development theory, attachment theory, play, creativity, and the arts) and highlighting our credibility as experts, changemakers and thought leaders in this space.

  • Creating, sourcing, and scheduling relevant and engaging, bite-size copy and social media assets. (e.g., links to web pages and blog posts, infographics, images, videos and audios, questions, surveys, polls, research findings, testimonials, quotes, course bookings, cross-group promotions).

  • Working across departments to deliver exceptional service to customers and potential customers.

  • Giving guidance and clarity as required to empower staff members to contribute to the impact of Thrive’s social reach and community discussions.

  • Creating and managing paid social media adverts and campaigns on platforms including Facebook and LinkedIn.

  • Monitoring accounts to look for and keep track of all mentions, feedback, keywords, and discussions related to our service and wider mission. Analysing these to gain insight into what’s resonating and performing well amongst core target audiences – and what should be modified.

  • Providing data, analysis, and interpretation to inform future decision making and influence strategy.
