Duration:        Fixed term - until September 2022

Hours:            35 hours per week. Other flexible arrangements will be considered.
International travel may occasionally be required.

Disclosure Level: Basic. This role involves no direct work with children.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Creative Team sits within the Public Engagement Directorate at UNICEF UK. This directorate has an ambitious strategy to maximise the amount of income and impact we deliver for children. The mission of the Creative Team is to collaboratively plan, produce and deliver creative content across editorial, design, film, photography and motion graphics that results in greater income, influence and the growth of the UNICEF brand in the UK.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Video Producer you will focus on producing best in class video content for UNICEF UK’s campaigns and initiatives. You will be responsible for the timely development, production and editing of video content that showcases UNICEF’s work and impact around the world and brings to life children’s stories.

 

What we will expect you to achieve

  • Produce, and on occasion edit, best in class video content for UNICEF UK that is audience led and is tailored to channel, in collaboration with the Creative team and commissioning teams from across the organisation.

  • Deliver to UNICEF UK’s video strategy, as set by the Senior Creative Lead (Film & Photo), which empowers the organisation to produce video content to the highest standard, within UNICEF UK brand guidelines and tone of voice, and distributed through the most optimal channels.

  • Manage freelancers, creative agencies, and consultants, as appropriate, to produce content to brief for the organisation.

  • Shoot and edit video content, occasionally and as required, for UNICEF UK priority campaigns and communications. Serve as in-house filmmaker as required, demonstrating a thorough understanding of digital cameras.

  • Work closely with Marketing colleagues to evaluate the effectiveness of our video content and identify gaps and opportunities.

  • Develop frameworks and processes that empower other teams to use video content effectively based on input/trends from our audience insights, channel strategy and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with colleagues from our international offices to produce stories from our programme work in country.

  • Work with the Motion Graphics and Video Editor to produce graphics templates for videos using animation, infographics.

Relevant experience

  • Producing and editing video content. As a producer, both directly hands-on, and project managing others, from concept through to distribution.

  • Overseeing and implementing video content strategies and channels including, but not limited to, YouTube and Facebook.

  • Working in a consultancy and partnership capacity with other teams, helping to identify and deliver against strategic opportunities for digital video. 

 

Specific knowledge and skills

  • Digital disciplines with regards to video, for example accessibility and SEO best practices, analytics.

  • A good understanding of skills in editing, animation, video production and industry standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (specifically but not restricted to Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects).

  • Setting up a shoot using camera, lighting, and sound techniques to deliver video content for different digital channels and purposes (low-fi to high end)
