AirTree’s looking to add a full time Financial Controller to our team!

About AirTree 

Based in Sydney, we’re one of the largest and most active venture capital funds in Australia and New Zealand. About the role

This is a full time position. 

The role is crucial to AirTrees success, you will be responsible for the accounting for our funds, working closely with our Partner, external accountants and external auditors.  

The core goal of the Financial Controller is to ensure that AirTree’s accounting functions run smoothly ensuring our  stakeholders receive an excellent experience.  These stakeholders include Investors, founders, regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders. 

This is an exciting opportunity to be a core part of the AirTree team.

What you’ll do

●      Fund accounting - preparation of the fund accounts including entering transactions, reconciliations, valuations, month end journals, preparing financial reports, fund audits and the financial component of our reporting to Investors.

●      Management Company accounting - working with our external accountants to ensure accurate and timely reporting including internal financial reporting, budgets and audits.

●      Calls and Distributions - implementing calls and distributions from the fund to the investors (seamless experience for our investors and founders)

●      Reporting - regular, timely, accurate and insightful reporting to our investors (including regulated superannuation funds)

●      Compliance - working closely with the team to ensure that AirTree is at all times compliant with policies and regulations, especially relating to AFSL, ESVCLP, AML/KYC and FATCA.

●      Portfolio reporting - regularly collecting information from our portfolio companies

What you won’t do

You will not be responsible for Investor relations; this is a separate role within the team.

About you

●      You are self-directed, flexible and detailed focused.  You’re comfortable working in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.

●      You are a systems thinker.  You relish organising chaos and implementing frameworks and systems.

●      You have strong accounting and finance modelling skills (CPA or CA or equivalent qualifications)

●      You have experience within a fund’s management environment, Private Equity or Venture Capital is preferred.

●      You are a strong communicator.

The role is based in Sydney.
