The Overview
Our Programme Managers are at the heart of our work in testing and spreading innovation and innovative practice. We are seeking to recruit a number of Programme Managers and can offer full or part time hours.
As a Programme Manager joining our team you could expect to own and provide leadership on a portfolio that encompasses a diverse range of projects (across commissions), working across the innovation to implementation pathway. You would be working with national and regional partners to create the optimal conditions for innovation in our local peninsula health and care settings.
We are looking for colleagues with a strong understanding of business development with a readiness to work in a commercial context and contribute to strategic growth objectives, with knowledge of the processes involved in the identification, evaluation and implementation of high impact health and care innovations.
We have significant interest in subject matter experts who have experience in implementing digital innovations in healthcare or similar setting and who are familiar with working with industry partners to support the commercialisation and scale up of innovations.
Currently, the portfolios include projects such as innovation within cancer, the Patient Safety Commission, identifying those most in need of cutting-edge treatment for diseases with high prevalence in the South West and building leadership and quality improvement capability to support pathways for successful innovation.

Responsibilities
· Develop and deliver projects and programmes with clear deliverables, on time and within budget, with risks and issues escalated in a timely way
· Build deep knowledge, local networks and strong relationships within a defined area of the peninsula health and care system and/or discrete portfolio of projects.
· Establish strong internal relationships that draw on expertise from across the organisation to support the delivery of projects/programmes
· Develop and draw on our methodologies to test, spread, and deploy innovation and innovative practice.
· Provide regular, accurate and detailed reporting on programme performance
· Work with our communication and engagement team to engage partners in our programmes, communicate the impact of our work and raise our profile at a regional and national level.
· Work with our evaluation and learning team to define and measure the impact of our projects/programmes.
· Identify and develop new partnership opportunities to grow our work.
· Be an active contributor to our business development process, ensuring that our organisation targets high value, strategic opportunities.
· Manage external contractors, associates and clinical advisors to deliver programme aims as required.
· Build strong relationships with other Health Innovation Networks and contribute to the success of the work of the national Health Innovation Network.
· Line and matrix manage staff as required to deliver your programme of work.
· Demonstrate the values of the organisation in all your work as impact led, improvement focused and collaborative.
Person specification:
Experience we are looking for
Programme Management
· Proven track record in managing complex programmes and successfully implementing innovative solutions in healthcare settings, including planning, managing a budget, risk management, monitoring progress and evidencing outcomes.
· Knowledge of models and frameworks related to the spread and adoption of innovation
· Knowledge of change methodologies such as Quality Improvement (QI) frameworks, Lean or Six Sigma, and project and programme management frameworks such as PRINCE2 or Agile, including identifying and overcoming resistance to change.
· Creative and analytical approach to problem-solving and decision making
· The ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve shared goals
Strategic thinking and prioritisation
· Ability to build long term strategies for innovation adoption
· Experience managing a pipeline of projects – assessing ideas for relevance and validity to identify high-value opportunities.
Influencing and stakeholder management
· Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders including clinicians, researchers, managers, industry partners and patients and strong ability to work collaboratively, including with internal colleagues.
· Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience and capabilities you will bring to the role
· A good working knowledge of the health and care system, and NHS commissioning and procurement.
· Experience designing and delivering complex multi stakeholder social innovation projects/programmes.
