Ada Ventures is a new venture capital firm, directly authorised and regulated by the FCA. We have a management company (Ada Partners LLP), and manage a fund (Ada Ventures I LP) along with four other fund-related entities. 

Finance

  • Responsibility for our fund accounting

    • Annual fund financial statements (via fund administrators) and audit (via auditors)

    • Quarterly LP reporting (via fund administrators)

  • Responsibility for portfolio company reporting which will involve capturing portfolio company performance data and KPIs monthly/quarterly, evaluating performance and also preparing short write ups for investor quarterly reports on each portfolio company

  • Monitor investment portfolio construction and also fund cash management planning for the fund including initiating drawdowns and distributions.  

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the firm’s P&L/ general finances including preparation of annual budget for partnership, reviewing actual performance against budget and preparing monthly management accounts package for partner meetings. 

  • Manage bank account and dealing with payments including expenses are appropriately authorised 

  • Responsible for managing relationship with HMRC and dealing with income tax and PAYE & NI filings 

  • Manage the relationship with Rees Pollock (fund accountants), FD Works (partnership accountants), NCM (fund administrators) and Auditors (Rees Pollock)

  • Oversee LP reporting portal and also responsible for dataroom during fundraising


Regulatory & Compliance

  • FCA relationship and compliance

    • Quarterly FCA (GABRIEL) regulatory reporting

    • Maintenance of FCA (Connect, GABRIEL) systems

  • Manage the relationship with Newgate, our outsourced compliance advisory firm

    • Responsibility for the Newgate compliance software system

    • Responsibility for internal compliance training monitoring

  • Carry out KYC and other regulatory checks on investors during fundraising


Operations

  • Some additional operational tasks and responsibilities as you might expect in a start-up VC firm eg setting up and running D&O and PI insurance, workplace pension schemes, premises management, etc


Considerations 


  • This is an important operational role, and specifically not a path to an investment role within Ada Ventures 

  • You will need to be highly detail orientated

  • You will need to be financially qualified for this role (e.g. ACA, CIMA, etc.)

  • You will need to be a self-starter and entrepreneurial 

  • You’ll be representing Ada in the market so we will need you to subscribe to our culture and standards of behaviour 

  • We are an FCA regulated firm and there are high standards of behaviour conduct which you will need to adhere to

  • We are open to discussing flexible working.
