Job Description

Bethnal Green Ventures is Europe’s leading early-stage tech for good VC. We back ambitious founders using technology to tackle big social and environmental problems that aim to radically improve millions of lives. BGV has unrivalled experience and track record investing in and scaling tech for good businesses, generating top-tier returns for investors, as well as significant and measurable impact.

We’re looking for a highly motivated person to join the BGV team as Operations and Insights Manager to ensure the BGV team is the best it can be, while developing and improving many of our processes.

The core BGV team is small (we’re a dynamic bunch of ten people) but our wider community includes over 70 live startups in our portfolio and over 100 mentors in our network. We work alongside our ventures in our co-working space near Aldgate East and help run the London Tech for Good meetup with around 8,000 members. BGV gives you the benefits of being in a small team whilst being part of a bigger movement.

As Operations and Insights Manager your responsibilities will be varied but will include:

  • Co-ordinating management information and projects for BGV, making sure that we deliver on time and on budget what we’ve promised to our investors, partners and ventures. You'll make sure we're working on the right things, at the right time, in the most efficient way

  • Collecting and analysing data on how the BGV portfolio is performing and presenting this to BGV stakeholders

  • Ensuring the BGV team is performing at it’s best through developing a culture of responsibility, measurement and accountability

  • Coordinating the hiring process for BGV; including applications, interviews and induction

  • Assisting the Head of Finance with BGV’s regulatory and legal responsibilities

  • Supporting the Investment Team to execute BGV’s investments into tech for good startups

The ideal person will:

  • Have an affinity with BGV’s mission and values and be excited about the opportunity to work with socially motivated tech startups

  • Have direct experience in an operational role within a fund management business, startup or venture-backed business

  • Be data-driven and understand the importance that data and KPIs have for a high-performing team

  • Work well with people and have genuine enthusiasm for developing a high-performing team

  • Be team oriented, with a ‘can do’ approach to helping out the wider BGV team where necessary

Benefits:

  • An amazing experience working alongside startups solving big social and environmental problems

  • Exposure to our growing network of founders, mentors and investors

  • A great work environment and supportive team culture

  • Flexible working

  • Annual professional development budget

We are committed to building a diverse community and strongly encourage applications from women, minorities and individuals with disabilities.
