The Role

The Director of Commercial, Marketing & Communications is a senior leadership role at London Sport, responsible for driving commercial success of the organisation and ensuring that marketing and communications plays a creative, significant and influential part in delivering against the our mission to make London the most active city in the world and against our organisational goals

What you’ll do:

• Set the commercial strategy for the organisation, taking ultimate responsibility for maximising income from commercial partnerships and London Sport’s consultancy work.

• Appoint and manage external business development partner(s) to support the organisations commercial success.

• Lead the Commercial, Marketing and Communications team providing inspirational leadership enabling the team members to thrive and develop to their fullest potential at London Sport.

• Working with the team, lead on the creation and delivery of the marketing and communications strategy for the organisation, including the delivery of our two annual events, the Active London conference and the London Sport Awards.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that the organisation’s impact on policy and influence with key stakeholders and partners across London is heightened leading to increased opportunities for Londoner’s to live active lives.

• Build the credibility, reputation and fame of the organisation via influence with key stakeholders and decisionmakers and via effective use of media and owned London Sport communication channels.

• Play a full and active part of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, attending organisation’s quarterly board meetings and board sub-committee meetings.

Who you are:

• A strategic leader with a proven track record in delivering results, leading effective teams, and operating confidently at a senior level.

• Commercial or business development experience gained within commercial partnerships or consultancy environment plus strong experience of either marketing or communications from a relevant environment.

• Significant experience in managing agencies, getting the best from them on behalf of your organisations and a track record of managing impactful partnerships between a range of partners including brands, and charities and/or non-profit purpose driven organisations.

• Experience of creating, delivering and managing impactful partnerships between a range of partners including brands, and charities and/or non-profit purpose driven organisations.

• Strong strategic skills and experience of developing, and delivering impactful and effective strategies and action plans.

• Excellent communication skills and adept at building effective relationships with stakeholders.

• Experience of working with agile project management methodologies and in creating and managing project documentation.

• Commitment to the Values and Behaviours of London Sport.

• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion in London.

• Lived experience of day to day life in London.

• You are positive, proactive and enjoy working as part of a team.
