Job Description

This is an exciting and busy time to be joining UK Youth as we have just launched our new strategy to transform the way we work to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. As a result, we are recruiting for a number of new roles designed to enable the organisation to grow, improve our ways of working and enable us to deliver our ambitious 2025 strategic plan.

We’re looking for an exceptional leader to build and deliver a new engagement strategy over the next 12 months. This strategy will focus on storytelling and digital innovation with the purpose of new donor acquisition and engagement of individual supporters, event participants and celebrity talent.

The Engagement team is responsible for growing our individual supporter base, particularly focusing on a mid-value audience and oversees events from across the organisation. The team manages a portfolio of successful special events and challenge events and is now adopting digital fundraising and talent engagement as part of the new strategy. This role will line manage five team members; Philanthropy & Engagement Manager, Events Strategy Manager, Events Fundraising Manager, Talent Engagement Manager and the Events and Engagement Officer.

You will be responsible for leading the Engagement team to deliver a diverse portfolio of events and fundraising appeals with integrated supporter journeys, applying insights and audience research. You will bring outstanding creative skills, innovating and testing approaches that provide a variety of ways in which individuals can support UK Youth.

You will have a strong background in primarily individual giving or direct marketing, although knowledge of other fundraising income streams will strongly be considered. You will have experience in managing and inspiring teams, experience of income forecasting, reporting and strategic planning and have excellent senior relationship management skills.

Who we are

UK Youth is a leading charity that exists to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. We work with others to ensure that the youth sector is strengthened, supported and that provision is youth-led, evidence-informed and delivers high-quality outcomes.

UK Youth plays a unique role in addressing; the lack of investment in the youth sector, the lack of cross-sector understanding in how youth work makes a difference and the limited opportunities to embed effective solutions. These factors lead to mass inequality of access to youth services for young people. To find more about us and how we make an impact, please visit UK Youth Website
