Summary of role

We are seeking a Senior LCA Analyst for our high growth Green Design program. They will join our Global Centre of Excellence for Analytics and lead research, technical and analytical work specialising in product scorecarding using LCA approach and other methods to support clients like PepsiCo, Reckitt and Target with sustainable innovation. The program has seen great success and interest from the sustainability community, and we have bold ambitions to build on the momentum to grow our reach and influence in this important arena. Joining the team in this role provides a great opportunity to work directly with the Program Director to shape the Green Design solution; a key growth opportunity for Anthesis.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • We are developing an industry leading database which ties environmental and social sustainability metadata to product and packaging materials. It will be your role to own the curating and maintaining of this database, being a key growth enabler of client impact and the program

  • Lead on Technical research and results dissemination for our Green Design program. Be the “go-to person” in your field

  • Work with the Program Director and Footprinter CEO to shape and develop the Green Design solution and growth plan

  • Work with some of the world’s largest companies to understand their sustainability priorities and what behaviour they want to encourage in their designers – using this to develop methods to scorecard products and give them the information to improve their products.

  • Working closely with our software partner Footprinter (San Francisco & UK) to design, configure, roll-out and maintain tools

  • Designing and performing detailed calculations to determine material flows, greenhouse gas emissions, circularity and other environmental, economic and social metrics

  • Quality assurance of deliverables

  • Report writing

  • Problem solving

  • Project, client and line management

  • Build expertise in the team through mentoring and training

  • Support the Program Director on business development, including proposal writing

 

Skills

  • Excellent analytical skills applying to various LCA and analytical software activities. We would expect experience in one of the main LCA tools, advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, and preferably some experience with scripted approach to analysis (e.g. Alteryx)

  • Would expect at least 3-years’ experience in designing and delivering complex product assessments/scorecarding within different markets OR in designing and maintaining a database of materials and factors.

  • Database management skills: eye for detail, accuracy, prioritisation, process development, integrity management

  • Project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations

  • Experience in packaging, the FMCG, or Food & Beverage sector preferred.

  • 1st Class or 2:1 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Bachelors/Master’s Degree

  • Team player who collaborates well, with effective communication skills

  • Well presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador which flexes and is appropriate for the specific client environment and circumstances
