Interested in joining our team? We are hiring for a Financial Accountant in our Corporate Finance team. This position can be based in our Calgary, Alberta office or our Denver, Colorado office. This position will report to the Team Lead, Financial Reporting.   

Position Requirements:

·       Chartered Professional Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with one to five years of post-qualification experience

·       Strong understanding of financial statement and MD&A preparation and reporting processes

·       Ability to prepare and calculate journal entries to support month-end and quarterly reporting

·       Familiarity with internal controls over financial reporting

·       Strong technological literacy, specific to Microsoft Excel (ability to manipulate, organize and retrieve data using formulas and logic functions)

·       Self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

In addition to the position requirements, preferred experience and education includes:

·       Experience in or with the Oil and Gas industry and an interest in sustainability

·       Public accounting firm training

·       Knowledge of U.S. GAAP

·       Experience with SOX testing

·       Familiarity with regulatory filings such as the Annual Information Form, Information Circular, and SEC filings

·       Proficiency in accounting systems

·       Familiarity with data and analytics tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Smartsheet, Smart View etc.
