The Let’s Go Zero campaign is seeking a project assistant for its new climate action advisors project. This initiative will link thousands of schools with advice and support from a network of local climate experts.
The advisors will help schools make buildings energy efficient, connect students with nature, and decarbonise meals, travel and more. All adding up to lower emissions and more inspired young people. Your support could help advisors work effectively together and create maximum impact up and down the country.
About this role
The role holder will support project management processes and assist our advisor network.
They will co-ordinate advisor recruitment, induction and training, as well as meetings and collaboration across the network. The role holder will manage the network’s inbox, create advice documents, liaise with schools, and create and manage case studies. Other tasks will include managing records and supporting reporting.
Interviews will take place online Tuesday 5 December and in person Friday 8 December.

Job purpose: To co-ordinate the Climate Action Advisors project for the Let’s Go Zero campaign. Responsible for supporting project management processes and assisting a network of remote advisors.
Reports to: Climate Action Advisors Project Manager
Responsible for: No line management responsibilities
Duties and key responsibilities
· Coordinate the scheduling and logistics for Climate Action Advisor recruitment, overseen by the Project Manager
· Ensure all relevant induction and on-going training sessions are scheduled and completed for Climate Action Advisors, overseen by the Project Manager
· Coordinate scheduling and logistics for regional Climate Action Advisor meetings and training days, online and in-person, in collaboration with Project Manager
· Inbox management, including being first point of contact for schools interested in support and passing contact onto relevant regional Climate Action Advisor
· Creation of action advice documents for schools and distributing relevant advice to engaged schools, led by the Climate Action Specialist
· Liaise with and attend relevant network and coalition meetings on behalf of the Let’s Go Zero team
· Represent Let’s Go Zero at external events
· Support with reporting on school engagement and impact measurement of actions, led by Project Manager
· Support Climate Action Advisors with collecting, writing and uploading school case studies and distribute relevant internal communications with Climate Action Advisors network, supported by Let’s Go Zero Communications Coordinator
· Manage effective records of engagement through the Ashden CRM system and other tracking tools, supporting Climate Action Advisors where necessary with inputting data and updating records
· Manage all GDPR requirements for information collected for case studies.
· Support the Head of Let’s Go Zero and Project Manager on specific Let’s Go Zero tasks as and when required.
· Provide expertise and co-ordination for the wider Ashden programme team at times of high workload (e.g. Awards call for entries).

Legal, regulatory and compliance:
· Ensure compliance with SFCT financial policies and procedures
· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (where applicable - GDPR Champion for Ashden, initial responsibility for ensuring compliance with GDPR)
· Ensure compliance with Ashden Safeguarding policies and procedures and data protection in relation to grant management.
· Personal compliance with SFCT health and safety procedures, Equal Opportunities & Diversity procedures
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE:
· Experience of working in a team, engaging with external parties
· Experience of coordinating online and in person meetings and events
· Experience of coordinating projects involving multiple people/teams, ideally with an education or environmental element.
· Experience with a range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office, Dynamics, Teams and SharePoint (desirable)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Clear communicator who can convey complex information to a range of audiences quickly and effectively.
· Highly organised with an eye for detail
· Skilled team player
· Ability to work under pressure and prioritise
· Strong networker
· Able to take responsibility for decisions, particularly in relation to engaging with partners, and find solutions to problems

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION/TRAINING:
· Essential:
o Excellent IT skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new systems/platforms
o Knowledge of, or a proven interest in climate action
o Fluent English
· Desirable:
o Project management experience
o Knowledge of, or a proven interest in, the UK education systems, sustainable energy and the environment
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Able to work some evenings, weekend and out-of-hours from time to time and travel within UK
· Active and self-led learner who keeps abreast of developments
