Job Description

Make-A-Wish UK is looking for a Recruitment Manager to lead our talent acquisition strategy and drive our recruitment processes, on a permanent basis. You’ll be responsible for working with our internal teams to identify sourcing needs and taking full ownership of talent attraction and candidate experience. The Recruitment Manager will play a crucial role in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top-tier talent that aligns with the Make-A-Wish culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

-        Develop and implement our Recruitment and Selection Strategy, aligned with our mission and goals, to attract diverse and highly skilled candidates. Ensure that our resourcing is aligned to the overarching strategy and operational plan of the organisation and particularly reflect the wider work under Goal 3 of that strategy (Developing Our Capability)

-        Guiding the organisation through resource planning for employees, ensuring a talent pipeline and a proactive, robust understanding of where resources are required

-        Implementing a process to support the organisation’s needs for skilled volunteers

-        Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify specific pro-bono or skilled volunteer support requirements and resource accordingly, working closely with the Volunteering team

-        Collaborating with external networks to make the most of our resources

-        Develop and maintain our talent attraction brand by promoting our culture, values, and opportunities across different platforms.

-        Be a trusted business partner to internal stakeholders, offering advice and innovative solutions to recruitment. Working with our Leadership Teams and People Managers to ensure that Make-A-Wish culture, values and behaviours and embedded all our talent sourcing

-        Continually improve our Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) platforms to ensure a streamlined and consistent resourcing approach across all employee recruitment and volunteer recruitment

-        Implement EDI strategies through our resourcing processes, delivering key initiatives, and building an inclusive culture. Drive initiatives within Talent Attraction and Onboarding that promote an inclusive workplace culture

To be successful in this role, you will need:

-        Proven commensurate work experience in the field of Talent Acquisition, Recruitment or Sourcing. Experience working within the charity sector would be advantageous, but is not essential. Ideally candidates should be able to demonstrate prior experience in recruitment of both employees and volunteers

-        A passion for the Make-A-Wish mission and commitment to creating a positive workplace to deliver our strategic goals around wish delivery

-        Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

-        Solid understanding of various recruitment techniques and tools. Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and people related software. Experience of Assemble would be highly advantageous

-        Communication skills: Excellent communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation, and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Exceptional interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

-        Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify trends and insights, and develop actionable recommendations

-        Culture and Talent: An understanding of the organisation's culture and the ability to promote and maintain that culture through candidate identification

-        Continuous learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest regulations, laws and contemporary trends and best practices. Proven experience of applying updated legislation to processes
