About The Agency

The Agency is a creative entrepreneurship programme. It gives young people aged 15 to 25 agency to affect real change in their own community.

The Agency started in Southampton in 2021, building on success in London and Manchester. Energise Me brought together arts, non-arts and community organisations united in the vision of making a real difference to the lives of young people.

Using an arts-based methodology from Brazil, The Agency provides development opportunities for young people. It helps them to launch ambitious projects and social enterprises that will benefit their local area.

About the role

An exciting opportunity to lead the management and delivery of The Agency (Southampton).

  • Part of Energise Me’s Places Team

  • Reports to the Head of Place-based Development

  • 21 hours per week, worked to fit the needs of the role and programme delivery (including Tuesday evenings and Saturdays)

  • 25 days paid holiday per year (pro rata) plus bank and public holidays

  • Creative Pension - Energise Me will pay 10% employer contribution

  • 3 x Salary Life cover from date of date of employment underwritten by AIG Life.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain successful partnerships with organisations and individuals across Southampton.

  • Work creatively with the facilitation team, past Agents and referral agencies to reach as many and as diverse a range of young people as possible.  

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring environment where young people feel safe, encouraged and able to do their best.

  • Safeguard the wellbeing of young people during the project.

  • Organise marketing and publicity for the programme.

  • Line manage The Agency (Southampton) facilitation team.

  • Manage and track the programme budget.
