We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Membership Programme Manager who can deploy political insight and use their outstanding collaboration skills to plan and execute projects that help our network of local leaders and their staff tackle the Climate Emergency and reach Net Zero.
The role will be responsible for managing a programme of work such as leading UK100’s network and membership offer, coordinating UK100’s Countryside Climate Network, developing UK100’s online Knowledge Hub and developing our two flagship programmes of work: the ‘Climate Leadership Academy’ and ‘Local Power in Action’.

Key responsibilities:
Manage UK100’s work that develops a network of elected local leaders and their teams, enabling our members in sharing policy expertise, best practice and convening them to advocate for the powers and resources needed to accelerate local climate action
Manage UK100’s “Local Power In Action” Programme that provides tailored support via the deployment of political consultants, enabling local authorities to overcome political, organisational and engagement challenges they face in implementing ambitious Net Zero projects.
Develop UK100’s online Knowledge Hub, which includes written and multimedia case studies of best practice and political toolkits that inspire and support ambitious local action by local leaders and officers.
Develop a programme of online and in-person events such as knowledge sharing webinars, member roundtables and panel sessions, and coordinate UK100’s presence at external events such as party conferences.
Coordinate UK100’s Countryside Climate Network of Local Leaders representing rural authorities.
Lead the development of UK100’s membership pledge programme that secures leaders’ commitment to ambitious action towards Net Zero - and develop support for them to deliver against it, with regular meetings, communications and research
Collaborate with UK100’s communications team to deliver a programme of communication that supports, engages and excites UK100’s membership
Manage ambitious and impactful projects: to time, on budget, and meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and organisational outcomes.
Represent UK100 at meetings and public events to promote ambitious action to tackle air pollution and the Climate Emergency from Local Authorities, National Government and business

Person Specification
Criteria
Knowledge
Strong understanding of relevant politics and policy re: Net Zero and the Climate Emergency, and local challenges and opportunities for action
Understanding of the structures, functions, and governance processes of local government
Awareness of change management practices and processes
Experience
Working in partnership to build productive stakeholder relationships, preferably with local and national government stakeholders
Building and managing a high performing team to achieve meaningful change
Skills and abilities
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
Effective project management skills and ability to deliver agreed outcomes, to time and budget
Excellent communication and presentation skills
