Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to transform an existing service delivery model to meet the requirements for the future, with a specific focus on becoming more digitally enabled and flexible in the type of service offered. Working with an existing team to change the way in which they deliver welfare services to ensure that serving personnel, reservists and their families are best place to deliver against the defence requirements of the MOD.

About the role

This role is required to deliver the mobilisation and transformation plan behind a change in contract. It will give the successful applicant the chance to work with both a well known charity and with the military to transform a long established service. The move towards the digital delivery of the service is new and will compliment the existing face to face provision currently provided. This means the successful applicant will work with a wide range of stakeholders, introduce new digital platforms and develop improved accessibility for those in need of support. This is a unique role as you will be directly influencing how we support the welfare needs of our armed forces and ensure they get the efficient and effective support when needed.

About the team

You will form part of a cross functional team from across SSAFA who are all dedicated to ensuring that the Armed Forces, veterans and their families can thrive. This cross functional team will involve IT, HR, Marketing, Quality Assurance and the existing Service, all of whom are committed to delivering a plan that is ready to go.

About you

We are looking for an experienced project manager who can hit the ground running. Leadership, communication and problem solving skills will be essential. Microsoft Project skills along CMS experience are also desirable.

You will have experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading teams of both internal colleagues and external partners through complex projects, often having to show initiative to implement solutions to issues that are raised.

You can design, develop and maintain reports and dashboards to share visibility of project performance against KPI's.

You embrace good governance and communication to achieve successful outcomes

You have great people skills, can recognise the viewpoints of multiple stakeholders and identifying the best way forward

You are comfortable in accepting and providing challenge to senior colleagues to ensure the best outcome for your projects

You are proactive and highly motivated by your accountability to make change happen.
