Front of House Operations Manager
Nuffield Foundation
- Closing: 9:30am, 31st Jan 2024 GMT
Job Description
We are looking for a Front of House Operations Manager to support all operational aspects of events, meetings and facilities management for the Nuffield Foundation and its in-house research centres.
The Nuffield Foundation is an independent Charitable Trust that funds research and programmes to advance social well-being across the UK. We use evidence to improve people’s lives, and their ability to participate in society, by understanding the social and economic factors that affect their chances in life.
We're an organisation of approximately 100 staff. Since our move to new offices in Farringdon in 2021 we have grown the number of meetings and events that we convene in our office space. These events are often arranged by our staff, but can also sometimes be organised for external researchers whose work we fund or they might be events commissioned by other third parties. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all events and meetings are planned and delivered successfully, with all external visitors having a positive experience.
The Foundation is situated in a managed building, and this role (alongside the Office Services Manager) will also be responsible for ensuring that the office environment is well maintained at all times, for overseeing our reception area, supporting staff with the use of AV facilities, liaising with and occasionally supporting catering, and for ensuring that the safety and security of staff and visitors is prioritised.
We're looking for someone with experience of delivering end to end front of house/office services support, with excellent planning and organisational skills, and who can take a solutions focused approach to challenges. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills, act professionally at all times and be able to remain calm when working under pressure.
Experience of managing an office and its services would be expected. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practice is desirable, but we are happy to provide this training for the successful candidate.
Due to the nature of this role a flexible approach to working is essential. This role is office based, and start and/or finish times may vary on occasions in order to support specific events. There will likely be some early evening working requirements but this will be infrequent and limited. This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will also require a sufficient level of physical fitness to assist with movement of office furniture and supplies when required.
