Job Description

ABOUT US:

At Founders Pledge, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good. Since launching in 2015, we’ve raised over $10 billion for the most impactful social causes. We offer the simplest path to impact for successful entrepreneurs, providing end-to-end giving infrastructure, pioneering research, and access to a worldwide network of experts. In other words, we help tech leaders become strategic philanthropists. Our 1700+ members include the people behind industry-leading companies such as Airbnb, UiPath, Dropbox, Skype, Spotify, and Uber.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a CXO to lead our Member Experience (MX) function, including Advisory, Community, Growth and Programmes & Events teams, to continued success. Our MX function manages all interactions with our community, from having them sign a pledge, their learning about impact and experiencing our events, right through to their eventual donations. Reporting to our COO, you’ll have direct oversight of our MX team, responsible for stewarding and advising our members on their philanthropic giving journeys, with a focus on translating our research on high-impact funding opportunities into grant recommendations.

Our teams have the technical capabilities to reach their ambitious goals, so we’re looking for someone to provide leadership, cross-functional connection and management support to help them achieve their full potential. You’ll use your leadership skills and your experience working in the philanthropy sector to ensure the stability of the teams through their delivery of high-quality member interactions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing our overall, cross-functional MX strategy, planning multiple years ahead and ensuring alignment with our long-term strategic plans.

  • Providing exceptional line management, making sure they are supported, valued and can thrive at all times.

  • Ensuring key projects for the year are delivered, supporting your teams through delivery, connecting teams and unblocking or course-correcting where necessary to ensure projects move forwards.

  • Ensuring your teams can successfully contribute to org-level OKRs, including the achievement of our overall objective for 2024 - moving $75m to high-impact funding opportunities.

  • Planning and executing end-of-year Giving Season strategy, including setting targets and cross-team coordination.

  • Representing your teams at weekly extended leadership meetings and communicating back org-wide strategy decisions and plans.

  • Coordinating wider team meetings with other functions - You’ll also have regular check-ins with other managers across the business to ensure continued alignment, e.g. our research team.

  • Coordinating our annual MX team planning week, when we bring the entire team together. You’ll then feed insights and trends emerging from this week to the leadership team.

ABOUT YOU:

You’ll have lots of experience in (and a passion for) leading successful, cross-functional teams, in a business related to HNW community-building, ideally within an agile, startup environment. A strong interest in effective philanthropy is essential, and a passion for what we’re trying to achieve at Founders Pledge is a must.

Our main requirements for this role are as follows:

  • Experience building and executing strategy. You focus on the bigger picture and how all of the pieces of complex projects fit together, always aligning with long-term business strategy. You have experience ensuring teams of subject-experts can achieve overall team and business strategy.

  • Brilliant line management capabilities. You can show when you’ve embedded stability in teams, allowing them to meet and surpass their targets and encouraging team members to progress professionally in a short period of time.

  • Complex project and stakeholder management experience. You have exceptional organisational skills and experience enabling others to move complex projects and processes to their completion. You can demonstrate when you’ve been an unblocker and connector of dots.

WHY WORK WITH US?

You can find more about the benefits we offer here, but what makes us truly special is both our mission and our people. We’re a diverse team, from both charitable and commercial backgrounds, who believe that amazing things can happen when we tackle problems together. We offer a flat structure and an opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy.

We ask that applicants to this role are based within a commutable distance of London. You’ll need to work from our London Bridge office usually a minimum of 2 days per week. Otherwise, you just need a great home wifi connection, and we’ll provide you with everything else you need to be successful in your role.

On top of this, we’ll bring the global team together once per year and individual teams will meet to work together once per year (when it’s safe to do so)!

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Founders Pledge. We seek people with different strengths, experiences and backgrounds, who share our drive to understand and solve complex social challenges. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems requires different perspectives and unique ways of thinking and we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can do their best work.
