Job Description

What you’ll do:

As the Programme Manager you will join one of our 5 value propositions and a peer group of Programme Managers.  The Programme Manager is at the heart of our work in testing and spreading innovation and innovative practice. We are seeking to recruit a number of Programme Managers, offering full or part time hours, permanent and fixed term contracts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build deep knowledge, local networks and strong relationships within a defined area of the regional health and care system and/or discrete portfolio of projects.

  • Establish strong internal relationships that draw on expertise from across the value propositions teams to support the delivery of projects or programmes

  • Develop and draw on our methodologies to test spread and deploy innovation and innovative practice.

  • Provide regular, accurate and detailed reporting on programme performance.

  • Work with our communication and engagement team to engage partners in our programmes, communicate the impact of our work and raise our profile at a regional and national level.

  • Work with our evaluation and learning team to define and measure the impact of our projects or programmes.

  • To identify and develop new partnership opportunities to grow our work.

  • One of the Programme Manager positions will oversee the business development process, ensuring that our organisation targets high value, strategic opportunities.

  • Manage external contractors, associates and clinical advisors to deliver programme aims as required.

  • Build strong relationships with other HINS and contribute to the success of the national HIN Network.

  • Line management of roles that contribute to project delivery in a matrix environment.

  • Other grade appropriate responsibilities as, from time to time, instructed by the line manager.

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

Experience we are looking for:

Essential

 

  • Knowledge of change methodologies such as Quality Improvement (QI) frameworks, Lean or Six Sigma, and project and programme management frameworks such as PRINCE2 or Agile.

  • Experience managing a pipeline of projects – assessing ideas for relevance and validity to identify high-value opportunities.

  • A track record of influencing stakeholders to change their perspectives.

  • Experience leading the delivery of projects and programmes.

  • Experience of working in a matrix environment.

 

Desirable

 

  • A good working knowledge of the health and care system, NHS commissioning and procurement.

  • Designing and delivering complex multi stakeholder social innovation projects or programmes

  • Working in or with the health and life sciences sectors – from a customer, supplier or intermediary perspective.
