We're looking for 2 x Planners (Birmingham and Glasgow based).

As a Planning Engineer within Carey Civil Engineering, you will develop and implement project solutions, record progress and set the course for the delivery of our RC frame and civil engineering (groundworks to soft & hard landscaping) projects across the Birmingham and Glasgow regions.

The planning function is key to the success of a project - planning and sequencing the permanent works, logistics and temporary works phasing, engaging our project teams in BIM and assisting with development of the cost plan. This position will give you the opportunity to work across multiple projects- both pre-construction and live.

Based from our project site, you will work alongside our Heads of Delivery, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and Supervisors, gaining vital experience of all roles involved in the construction process. In addition, you will work closely with Careys Design and Operational teams, as well as the commercial function who will help to ensure cost controls are in place and monitored.

You will have robust Engineering (site-based) experience, preferably at a Site/Senior Engineer level and on RC frame or Civils project. Demonstrable planning experience, you will also have sound knowledge of construction methodologies and have produced short term programmes.

Training and support will be provided, to enable you to independently plan works for tenders, progress markups, resource loading and advise projects on where to gain betterment on a project programme. You will also contribute to project reporting using KPIs centred around production rates and outputs.
