Job Description

In the next 12 months there will be a General Election and we need an experienced and savvy Press Manager to lead our mainstream media coverage on TV, radio and in print. This coverage is key to our General Election strategy and our goal of delivering four new Green MPs and our highest ever national vote share.

You’ll be a key advisor to our leadership team and work alongside parliamentary and campaign teams to show what Greens in power mean for the future of England and Wales. You will thrive in fast-paced environments, be flexible, quick-thinking, decisive, and have good political judgement. You will be a great writer, manage competing priorities calmly, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have a wide range of press contacts they can draw on immediately to support delivery of our goals.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities, in particular those that are currently under-represented within our staff team. This includes, but is not limited to, people from minority ethnic groups and those who identify as disabled.

If you would like an informal conversation about the role before applying, please contact Gemma Walker, Head of Communications, via email (gemma.walker@greenparty.org.uk) to arrange a call.

Please note that the Applied recruitment system is configured to ask a series of questions that will support shortlisting for this role. Each question is based on one or more of the attributes listed in the person specification below and your answers will be scored based on how you demonstrate the attribute(s) that are relevant to the specific question being asked.

The job description and person specification can be found at https://www.greenparty.org.uk/jobs/

Closing date 12 noon on Wednesday 24th January 2024. Interview date TBC.
