Job Description

At Unreasonable, we build community between entrepreneurs, institutions, and investors to profitably solve pressing global problems. We believe entrepreneurial-led businesses building rapidly scalable solutions are the greatest untapped resource for solving the most significant social and environmental challenges of our time. Every day, our team strives to give the entrepreneurs we work with an unfair advantage to succeed. We do this by connecting them with our networks of mentors, investors, business leaders, and policymakers that can help them drive impact and scale their businesses faster. Today, the over 300 CEO’s in the Unreasonable Fellowship have raised more than $7.1B in financing, generated more than $5.4B in revenue, and are measurably impacting the lives of more than 720 million individuals in nearly every country and territory worldwide. But we’re just getting started...

As we’re inching toward 50 employees, we’ve reached a critical point in our organization’s growth when the needs of the business require the experience and expertise of a seasoned People Leader. Having doubled in size since the start of 2020, with teammates spanning 8 countries and a dozen states, the emergence of new business units and revenue lines, and the endless opportunities in this new age of work, we are excited to welcome a new member to our Leadership and Operations Teams to help guide and shape this next phase of Unreasonable’s history. The CPO will oversee the full life cycle of the employee experience and serve as the lead on recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, performance management, and professional growth. This person will join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of Unreasonable and bring a deep understanding of people matters and drive for cultural change. This is an exciting, multifaceted leadership role within a growing organization driven by its values and mission to re-purpose capitalism for the betterment of society and the planet.

  • Draft, maintain, and oversee compliance across all company wide human resource related policies and practices, including but not limited to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices

    • Facilitate and implement internal DEI initiatives alongside external consultancy and internal committee members

  • Maintain engagement pulse across the team to ensure a satisfied, motivated and engaged staff

  • You believe Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is separate from People Operations but have experience supporting the work of DEI practitioners and implementing People practices in line with DEI goals

  • You’ve built systems and processes that go from “scrappy” to “scaled.” You’re seasoned in process improvement and optimization.

  • You have a strategic mindset with a relentless focus on execution.

  • You’re obsessed with achieving results that matter on the larger scale of the employee experience

  • You are never the person who says, “That’s not my job.”  If in fact something isn’t your job, you empower and support the appropriate teammate around the task at hand.

  • You believe that when work is done well, magic is in the details

  • You are what we would refer to as a GyShiDo Master

  • You are equally able to work alongside a partner or team as well as have an ability to take full ownership of a project from start to finish
