Summary of Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior/Principal Consultant to help clients design, implement and manage material & product sustainability projects. Focus areas may include materiality assessments, leading product sustainability strategy development, setting product and packaging sustainability goals, evaluating material use risks, scouting new sustainable technologies, driving sustainable by design innovation, commercializing new material solutions, supporting the development of circular business models, and creating sustainability tools and frameworks based on raters and rankers (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB, THESIS, DJSI, Ecovadis, TCFD, and others).
This role will have responsibilities to develop work with clients across R&D, governance teams, procurement teams and more. Projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries, inclusive of Healthcare, Consumer Goods, and Food and Agriculture. The candidate will have a special focus on advising and helping clients commercialize and implement sustainable product solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), achieve science-based targets (SBTs), reduce waste, and improve other impact areas, while maintaining or improving product performance.
Key Requirements
At least 8-years professional experience. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Material Science; Mechanical, Chemical or another engineering field; or in Chemistry, Biology or related scientific field.
Proven leadership in strategy work, material science, formulation, supply chain or related technical field. Track record commercializing projects and/or initiatives.
An established understanding of sustainability issues is preferred, especially around sustainable design and development of products.
Excellent communications and project management skills
Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment
Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise.
Able to work on virtual teams across different time zones and strong excel skills.
